    Temporary Closure of the Old Slys Swing Bridge – April 28, 2016 Parks Canada advises that it will be closing the Old Slys Swing Bridge on Thursday, April 28 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm in order to complete the installation of new traffic barriers. An alternate crossing is available at the Beckwith Street Bridge. Motorists are invited to plan their routes accordingly in order to avoid delays.

    Our #FavouriteRideau100 is Old Slys! With so many beautiful spots, we keep changing our mind! 25 days left! The CPR bridge seen in the photo was built in 1858. In the 19th century, many commercial goods were transported either by inland waterway or by rail.

    Potential Traffic Delays: Hogs Back Bridge, Ottawa - April 20, 2016 Investigative work on the Hogs Back Bridge in Ottawa originally scheduled from April 18 to 21, 2016 has been extended until April 22nd. From 7pm to 11pm Hog’s Back Rd will be reduced to one lane in order to accommodate a work crew. During this time traffic will be controlled by workers on site. While investigative work will also take place between 9am and 3pm, lane closures will not be required.

    Parks Canada advises that from April 19th to 20th , 2016, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., vehicles may experience short delays when crossing the Chaffey’s Swing Bridge. These interruptions are due to minor maintenance required on the structure. http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/lhn-nhs/on/rideau/ne.aspx#chaffeys
