Major Clay, who would go on to earn the rank of major-general, was a doctor in Canada’s military. She undertook the pilot training to have a better understanding of the medical needs of pilots and other aircrew. She held the title as Canada’s only qualified female military aviator until 1979, when three female captains undertook training to get their wings after the occupation was opened to women.     RCAF personnel arrive in Romania for Exercice RESILIENT RESOLVE #Romania #Kuwait #NATO #Partners Approximately one hundred members from 3 Wing and 2 Wing from Bagotville, Québec, are presently deployed in the Constanta region of Romania in order to participate in exercise RESILIENT RESOLVE. The Air Task Force is comprised of approximately 100 personnel, which includes pilots, operational support staff, maintenance personnel, logistics and information systems specialists, and many other support personnel. Four CF-18 will take part in the exercise. The CF-18 were deployed to Kuwait for operation IMPACT. The jets arrived on 7 March, a few hours after the first C-17 flight, with about thirty members from CFB Bagotville, with materiel and equipment necessary to conduct the exercise. Exercise RESILIENT RESOLVE is a bilateral training exercise between the RCAF and Romanian Air Force. This training exercise builds on the relationship between Canada and Romania, an important NATO ally, strengthening mutual confidence in using common NATO procedures.
